I’ve been shooting Sony cameras and lenses for the past 6 years and, starting out as a landscape photographer for this blog, I’ve always had a soft spot in my heart for wide-angle lenses.  One of the first lenses I ever purchased for my Sony a7 was the 16-35 f4, an absolutely brilliant lens that I was sad to sell a few years ago but was happy because I replaced it with the 12-24mm f4 lens, an ultra-wide angle lens that I’ve really enjoyed.

But then Sony announced a new, incredible lens: the 12-24mm f2.8 G Master.  Put simply, it’s the fastest ultra-wide angle lens on the market.

Sony spared no expense and made no compromises with this lens and it was receiving rave reviews, so I stopped by my friends at Competitive Cameras in Dallas, Texas, and picked up the new lens.  So, new landscape lens, some time off of work for the Labor Day holiday weekend in the USA, why not go to Colorado for a hiking trip?
