Sorry about the absence from the blog! I had a massively busy week in Singapore and, combined with the jetlag, I was pretty much going from the hotel to the office and back. I now am back (after a brief stop in New Orleans for a bachelor party) and look forward to sharing some great stories with you.
We’ll start this week with a picture I took from the Regency Club at the Hyatt Regency Resort and Spa in Phuket, Thailand. Pretty much any vista of the Andaman Sea will look amazing, and the infinity pool overlooking the sea made the colorful sunset even that much more so.
Enjoy!
For the photographers: I’m really happy with this one, not just from a processing standpoint but also because I finally got to exploit the OSS on my 16-35. This is at f5.6 and 1/6 of a second and it’s handheld, no tripod! I then took it into Lightroom and got a little crazy with the dodging and burning after following my normal process, and this was the result!
Can you email me the file? I would love to have the picture. Thank you.
Shoot me an email at andystravelblog [at] gmail and I’ll see about getting you a copy
Beautiful picture and processing!
Thanks Marc!
Saw that a few hours ago on FT. Gorgeous.
Do you shoot raw and edit in lightroom? Is LR difficult to learn? That picture is edited beautifully.
Thanks! I shoot in raw and do most of my editing in Lightroom. Lightroom is intimidating at first but once you learn a few things it’s not too bad. I did a youtube video walking you through much of my process here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JKta-02APl8
Thanks Andy!
