On my way to Abu Dhabi from London (in Etihad’s First Class Apartment) I booked a room at the St. Regis in Abu Dhabi. I had about a 16 hour layover and figured it’d be better to spend it in a bed and see an amazing property.
Prices were reasonable ($240 for the smallest room) so I booked. I then (like I always do) sent a direct message to the SPG Twitter team (@spgassist) and told them what time I’d be arriving followed by “also, please don’t be afraid to upgrade me to some sort of amazing suite!” in a joking and fun way. Sometimes it works, sometimes not.
This time it worked.
I’ll do a full write-up about it (complete with more pictures) but wanted to show this to you as I travel, which I think is more fun.
By the way, the St. Regis Abu Dhabi has probably the most amazing entryway I’ve ever seen!
I’ll leave you with a quick little timelapse I shot from my room this morning so you can see just how great the view was. Talk to you soon!

What an amazing view – and a whirlwind trip! I can’t wait to read more about it and see more of the scenery from what seems a very distant and exotic locale.
Was there 2 days ago after a sweet ride in Etihad apartment.
