I love Christmas.  It’s a great time of the year and it’s fun to get bundled up and go look at the sights with my girlfriend the girl who might become my girlfriend photographers and get some good pictures.

The Omni Hotel in Dallas is a newer part of the Dallas skyline and has no doubt already paid back the half billion dollars it needed from the city of Dallas to build itself.  My political thoughts aside, it’s architecturally pretty and the grounds of the hotel have become sort of an art exhibit in and of itself.

This year they have some extremely large Christmas ornaments strewn about the facility.  Near the Omni is Reunion Tower, with the lit “ball” at the top of the tower.  I thought it’d be fun to try and get the top of Reunion Tower into the loop on top of one of the ornaments, so that’s this week’s Picture of the Week!

Reunion Christmas

For the photographers: I shot this with my Sony a7rII with the Zeiss Batis 85mm f1.8.  It was shot at f1.8 with the focus on the metal loop so I could blur out the lights of Reunion Tower.  I processed in Lightroom, Photoshop, and Nik Color Efex Pro 4.
