Want to see my other Pictures of the Week? Check out the archive!
Hi everyone! Things are about to pick up in a serious way here on the blog so today I’m relaxing. The last Monday of May is when the USA celebrates Memorial Day, a day set aside to celebrate and remember those who have given their lives in service to their country. Things have been a little nuts lately so I’m grateful for the respite from everything. Now I know most of my pictures of the week are landscape/cityscapes, but I also like food photography, particularly steak photography. Granted I always get some weird looks from neighbors when I set a cutting board on the trellis of my balcony and take a picture of it with a palm tree in the background, but that’s the price you pay, right?
Anyway, here’s this week’s Picture of the Week!
For the chefs: I cooked this sirloin using the Anova sous vide machine. I set the Anova to 130F and left it in for about an hour (since it was already a pretty lean cut). Quick pan sear, lightly salt, and boom! Edge-to-edge medium rare!
