So I’m in Singapore on a bit of an extended work trip at the moment (no, I never moved to Singapore, it’s a long story. Actually, it’s a short story: I never moved to Singapore). Now there are plenty of things I still need to do and see in Singapore, but I had never been to Bali before so I decided to fix that. I’ll give you a full accounting of how I got here, where I stayed, and what I did, but for now I want to whet your trip report whistle with this week’s Picture of the Week.
In the Ubud region of Bali you’ll see rice paddies all over the place. One of the most significant/touristy of the rice paddies is in a place called Tegalalang. Here the rice paddies are carved into terraces to maximize their yield. They are picturesque and beautiful, if not a bit touristy.
I thought Tegalalang would be the perfect start to the Bali trip report as this week’s Picture of the Week!
For the photographers: I took this with my Sony a7rII and the 24-70 GMaster lens. Not really much to it, it was plenty bright outside so I was able to handhold it and keep the shutter speed quick enough to prevent motion blur. The only annoying part about the post processing was going into Photoshop and clone/stamping out all the tourists walking around the terraces, but other than that nothing too complicated here.
