[UPDATE: IT HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED! SEE THE INCREDIBLE SPECS HERE!]
SonyAlphaRumors reports some good news for Sony shooters: Sony has a press release at 4pm Las Vegas time and will be announcing a new entry-level full frame mirrorless camera, the Sony a7III!
The a7III looks to have the same body as my a7rIII but with a 24 megapixel sensor, 4K video, and in-body image stabilization. The big enhancements (which will entice many Nikon and Canon shooters I think) are the addition of a second memory card slot and room for a bigger battery, 2.2x the capacity of the existing a7II battery!
(note: the below picture is of the a7rIII but the a7III will likely share the same form-factor)
Head over to Sony Alpha Rumors for some leaked press pics, and I’ll be sure to post once everything is official. Haven’t heard much on pricing yet but for a data point they released the a7II at $1700 for body only and $2000 with a kit zoom lens, wouldn’t surprise me to see them come in at $1900 and $2200 this time though.
As always, stay tuned!
