Howdy ATB readers! I went on a really really quick trip to Alaska last weekend and was absolutely blown away by the scenery. I’ll be posting some more content from my recent trip to Alaska later today and even more later this week, but wanted to share the video I put together for the YouTube channel if you wanted to get a sneak peek of some of the pictures as well as some great drone flying.
To make it somewhat more interesting I decided to rent the Sony 16-35mm f2.8 G Master lens to see if it could live up to the sterling reviews I had read about it.
As always, let me know what you think of the video and if you have any suggestions for future videos you’d like to see!
I drove from Anchorage to Seward during the summer months, Andy. The scenery is incredibly breathtaking.
I also had the pleasure of whale watching from one of those late afternoon cruises on a smaller boat while dining on fresh Alaskan salmon.
That was the year I visited Anchorage, Seward, Fairbanks and Barrow. I ditched the rental car for riding on virtually the entire length of the Alaska Railroad. I even rented a cabin adjacent to the shore of the Nenana River — you would be overwhelmed with all of the photography opportunities there.
Interesting. As a noob I learned a lot from this post.
Loved this. Fav shot…the driftwood…hands down. Highly recommend the Alan Wildlife Observatory..put that on your list.
Anan Wildlife..hate auto correct…near Ketchikan. Access via float plane or boat in.
Any recommendation on filters for the 16-35 GM
Hi JT, I use Lee filters. They’re expensive but work pretty well in my experience!
Thanks Andy. I am thinking of getting the NiSi filter kit.
I’ve heard good things about them as well
