Happy 4th of July to all of my American readers! I hope you had a good holiday weekend, I certainly did. As I typically do, I wanted to get a cool picture of some of the firework celebrations dotting the Dallas landscape. I knew where many people would be setting up for the main show and wanted to try something a bit different. At the end of the day the shot didn’t turn out as well as I had hoped but I’m still happy with the overall concept!
For the photographers: This was one of my first shots with my new Fuji GFX100. I adapted a Canon 400mm f2.8 to it and grabbed quite a few shots, compositing them together for this shot. The longer lens made for some great compression but the background (and the arch of the bridge) were just too busy to make a clean background. There were plenty of other things I could’ve done to make this shot better but I hit an equilibrium point between Caring and Putting More Effort In and was just done with it.
