There are certain places that are just epic for planespotting. Not to cheat on my friends at DFW Airport, with their awesome Founders Plaza (which just reopened today actually), but there’s no planespotting like at LAX. Not only are there amazing places to get epic views but the sheer variety of planes coming in from around the world are almost impossible to beat.
Which brings us to In-N-Out Burger at 9149 S Sepulveda Blvd next to LAX. More specifically, the little grass area next to In-N-Out at 9149 S Sepulveda Blvd next to LAX. It’s one of the best obviously accessible planespotting areas in the world. Sitting almost directly under the final approach path for runway 24R, the planes basically fly right over you as they come in for landing. And then the planes spooling up for takeoff on 24L make loud noises that make people who like loud noises happy.
So unfortunately for me I picked a bad time to visit In-N-Out, as most of the longhaul jets were landing on the other side of LAX at 25L, but at one point a longhaul jet finally came in for landing right around sunset. I managed to grab a few frames that I liked of Aer Lingus coming in from Dublin and, even though I’m a little late, I thought it would make a good picture of the week!
