Picture of the Week: Atlas V Rocket!

I was lucky enough to head out to Cape Canaveral last Thursday to witness the launch of the NASA Osiris-Rex mission. A good friend had some extended family involved with the mission and it was really cool listening to them talk about the elements that went into making it happen. It was my first rocket launch so I didn’t really know what to expect photographically. Ultimately I was too far away to capture the epic picture I had in mind but still loved this one. I’m on a quick trip to Washington DC at the moment, testing out some new gear from my friends at Bluffworks.

When I was out on the National Mall today the sky was just so beautiful and blue that I had to get a picture of one of the prominent monuments. The Washington Monument is a stark monolith in the middle of the National Mall and made for a nice subject, I thought.

This is a quick post but I hope you enjoy this week’s picture of the week! (Click through for the picture)
