For those of you in the USA, Happy Thanksgiving! For those elsewhere, happy Thursday evening!
I just wanted to take a few moments to say thanks to everyone who has stumbled across Andy’s Travel Blog. We launched the blog two years ago and it’s been a heck of a ride. Here’s to many more!
As part of Thanksgiving, I asked some of my fellow BoardingArea bloggers what they were thankful for, both in life and in the world of airline points/miles. Here were some of my favorite responses:
Mark from TravelBlawg:
- I’m personally thankful for all the family, friends, and acquaintances I get to walk through life with, and the many more I have yet to meet!
- I’m most thankful for my United Premier Access (as I wrote about here). It may sound simple, but it saves me much time and stress, so I may focus on enjoying my travels even more!
Brian from The Gate:
I am thankful for my health. I have no allergies and take no medications — not even aspirin. Mentally and physically, I still feel like I am in my twenties.
Although I have no one specific benefit related to frequent flier loyalty program miles and points for which I am thankful, I am truly thankful for all of the travel I have already accomplished in my life — and eager for more in the future…
Jen (one of my favorite bloggers) from Jetsetter’s Homestead:
I’m thankful for the gift and grace of travel.
I’m particularly thankful for access to the top agents at a few programs. They have saved my bacon countless times.
Charlie from Running with Miles:
I am very thankful for my lovely family. I enjoy being with them so much that even just flying out on my first leg always brings on pains of homesickness.
I am thankful for the award flexibility (change/cancel/redeposit) afforded by top status levels (I have used it a ton with my UA 1K this year!)
And finally, from the man himself, founder of BoardingArea, Prior2Boarding, Milepoint, Flyertalk, and countless other ventures, Randy Petersen:
[I’m thankful for] the number of friends I have that match my frequent flyer balance. Blessed each and every takeoff and landing that I never travel alone
[I’m thankful for] lifetime status in 5 different programs, it will come in handy if I ever get old and stop flying enough to re-qualify annually
Have a Happy Thanksgiving and thanks again for your support!
