Let’s wrap up our 3 part Park Hyatt Beaver Creek re-review.  Part 1 covered the suite we were upgraded to, Part 2 showed you the grounds of the resort, but I did leave out one gif, of this lovely little fireplace:

And now, my friends, it’s time for

The. Breakfast.

It’s actually kind of funny because I don’t think this post was supposed to happen.  Like I mentioned in part 1, we were here during shoulder season so the hotel was relatively empty and they normally don’t have the breakfast buffet until ski season returns.  For whatever reason, they had it one of the mornings we were there, and WOW.

One of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had was at the Park Hyatt Paris-Vendome.  It wasn’t the most expansive buffet imaginable but each dish was so rich and delectable that it didn’t matter.  How close could the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek’s buffet get?

Pretty darn close.  Let’s take a look.

The buffet is one long line and I started at the relatively pedestrian end where the cereals were.

As you can see, the cereals use the exact same dispensers as the Admirals Clubs around the USA, so that wasn’t the most impressive thing ever but at least they had a good selection from which to choose.

On the other side of the cereal bar were some very cool and large mason jars with a variety of juices.

Look at all that juice

Moving over to the next table, we saw the yogurt and fruit displays.

Fruit trays

Everything was wonderfully and artfully presented.  The more I think about it it was probably just a dress rehearsal of this year’s buffet items so they could get used to prep, but bravo either way, the decor fit the overall theme of the resort really well.  But before I get onto my whole “fitting the theme” rant, let’s take a look at the hot items.

Omelette Station

The omelette station was manned by a pleasant and chatty chef who prepared some wonderful looking omelettes for my buddies (I passed).  Down the row from the omelette station there were some cheeses and then the rest of what most would consider a “typical” breakfast buffet, but with unbelievable quality and presentation.

Cheese and Almonds

I’m not really sure I’ve ever seen a Caesar Salad be part of a normal breakfast, I imagine that Mr. or Mrs. Creek is a fan of Caesar Salads so they have it ready at all times in case they stop by.

Caesar Salad?

And then we get to one of the most The South things out there, which also kinda happens to be my number one favorite meal: biscuits and sausage gravy.

Biscuits and Gravy!

Unfortunately there’s no real way of taking a great picture of gravy, but that’s how you know it’s good.  After the excitement of the biscuits and gravy I was quickly running out of room on my plate, which was a shame because the rest of the items looked amazing.

Sausage Grits Cheese Pot Thingies (probably not actual name)

See?  Look at that presentation!  I love having little touches like small cast iron “pots”.

My buddy Mark has Diamond status with Hyatt and therefore we were able to order off the menu as well.  Since they had biscuits and gravy I had an inkling that they would also have

Chicken and Waffles

I love biscuits and gravy but chicken and waffles is also up there on my list.  It’s like right down the middle which one is worse for you (both) but hey, it was vacation, and I worked a lot of it off afterward in the gym.

You ready to see?  I’m not sure I was!

Chick.en. and. waff.les.

Ridiculous caption aside, oh my gosh!  It tasted even better than it looked too!

So there you have it

We came back to the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek and I hope I was able to tell you a more complete story than last year.  I encourage you to go there, get you a suite upgrade, enjoy the property, and eat the food!

What do you think?  Have you ever been to the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek?  Was it as good as I’m saying?  Agree/disagree in the comments below!
