It’s no secret that I’m a big fan of American Express’s Centurion Lounges (Here are my Dallas and New York LaGuardia Centurion Lounge reviews).  I find the level of service and the various amenities to be a cut above even the nicest airline lounges in the USA.

As of today their most recent addition to the lounge network is now open at Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport!  Located in Terminal D (the main international terminal for everyone except United), the lounge retains the feel and decor of the rest of the lounges in the network, as you’ll see below (images courtesy of American Express).

As a reminder, you get complimentary access for yourself and two traveling companions to Centurion Lounges if you hold the American Express Centurion or Platinum cards.  If you hold any other American Express card (actually issued by Amex, not another company’s card that uses the Amex network) you can purchase one-time access for $50.

Similar to the other lounges, the American Express Centurion Lounge Houston will feature food from a local celebrity chef, Justin Yu.  All drinks at the bar will be complimentary (including name-brand booze, not just the well stuff) and there are custom cocktails available, unique to the Houston lounge, designed by mixologist Jim Meehan.

You’ll find plenty of art on the walls unique to the region (I’ve always loved how American Express does this) and, as expected, plenty of power outlets, work desks, and high-speed wifi so you can get some work done.

All in all it’s 8,500 square feet of lounge space that looks impressive!  I do not currently have any trips departing out of Houston, but if one of my readers will be stopping by soon please take some pictures and I’m more than happy for you to be a guest poster!

What do you think of the lounge?  Have you visited any of the other Centurion Lounges?
