Silvercar is my favorite car rental experience.  I’ve detailed why in this post but basically it is a car rental experience that just makes sense:

  • Luxury vehicles (until now exclusively the Audi A4 sedan)
  • Satellite radio and navigation is included in the rate
  • Completely digital experience handled through the Silvercar mobile app
  • Common-sense return process (they will fill your tank up at market rates and a $5 fee)

Most recently they were in the news after being acquired by Audi, who thankfully appears to be letting Silvercar continue to do their thing and improve their processes.

Yesterday Silvercar announced a new addition to their premium family: the Audi Q5

The Audi Q5

Silvercar just announced the addition of the Audi Q5 sport utility vehicle to their service line (and yes, it will be silver).  Beginning with certain markets, the Q5 rollout should be completed by July.  You’ll be able to choose which vehicle you want to reserve on the app, just like normal.  It’s a bigger vehicle but not anything massive so it’s still fun to drive while giving you more room for your luggage.

The Q5 will be available starting in the following markets:

  • Fort Lauderdale
  • Miami
  • Denver
  • Los Angeles
  • Phoenix
  • San Francisco
  • Seattle
  • Orlando
  • Salt Lake City

Silvercar expects the rollout to other markets to be complete by July, but obviously check with your local branch as your plans develop.
