2019 is here!  It’s time for a new year of wonderful pictures that (hopefully) you enjoy!  I’m looking forward to what the year brings and can’t wait to share my creations with you (and hopefully help you get better along the way)!

The year, for me, started with a work trip to New York City.  It was a quick trip, and I didn’t have a ton of time, but I couldn’t sleep so I taxied down to Brooklyn to revisit some favorite spots there.  These are well-known locations and I’ve shot both of them before but it was something fun to do to pass the time while I was freezing (I forgot a coat, I know, I’m a moron).  So let’s kick off this year of Andy’s Travel Blog Pictures of the Week with two classic shots from one of the greatest cities in the world!

For the photographers: I didn’t think I would have any time for shooting on this trip so I just grabbed my Peak Design bag, threw my laptop in, and went out to New York.  I happened to have my 50mm Sony f1.4 lens, which I used for the first shot, handheld, and the second shot was with the Canon 24mm tilt-shift lens (steadied on a rock, since I didn’t have my tripod).  Let me know if you have any questions about shooting or post-processing, I’m going to do a revised post-processing workflow post soon!
