Cathay Pacific is a Hong Kong-based airline with a sterling reputation for world-class service. They serve a wide variety of markets and have long been a stalwart of nonstop flights between Hong Kong and the United States. Cathay Pacific First Class is one of the “aspirational” First Class cabins, one that people save up their miles to fly, and with good reason. I’ve been lucky enough to fly them in First Class four separate times so I’m fairly well-qualified to tell you what it’s like. Singapore has an interesting reputation. It’s safe, politically stable, and everyone seems to get along despite being a melting pot of so many different cultures. It boasts some of the best architecture in the entire world and its skyline boasts numerous noteworthy skyscrapers. But there are some negatives too: some say that the culture errs on the side of non-offensive to such a degree that it’s almost boring at times. Others say that whereas a city like Hong Kong is modern yet very much Asian, Singapore could be dropped anywhere in the world an no one would really notice. Plus it’s massively humid for pretty much the entire year, sitting just 80 miles north of the equator. Having spent quite a bit of time in Singapore this year I managed to snag some wonderful images, let’s run through my five favorites!

Hong Kong is one of my favorite cities on earth. It is a mix of the old and the new, in certain places feeling like ancient Asia and in others like New York City. I strongly recommend it for anyone looking to make a first trip to Asia since it is so easy to move around, is relatively safe, and English is widely spoken. It also, of course, boasts one of the most amazing skylines in the world, intersected by Victoria Harbour, one of the most active shipping lanes in the world. Basically it seems like something is always going on in Hong Kong at every hour of the day, a clash of the East and the West yet it all somehow works. I visit Hong Kong a few times a year and have taken some of my favorite photos ever on its shore and on its Peak. Let’s have a look at my favorites!

Let’s face it: airline safety videos are pointless and useless and everyone hates them and ugh. They’re kind of a necessary evil, at least according to the FAA who, you know, govern flight in America.
Most airline safety videos are the same old nonsense about insert the metal clasp into your eyeball and so on and so forth, but a few airlines go out of their way to make enjoyable ones. So kick back, relax, and enjoy five in-flight safety videos that are actually enjoyable.
